HPI’s G-Dog robot sales begin — may be exported to western shores

November 7th, 2008

Sony gave us the AIBO, a cute little puppy-like robot, and now HPI is bringing the G-Dog to market this month. In contrast to the AIBO it is styled to resemble a mature setter-like breed of dog though the size is still a diminutive 375 x 135 x 190mm.

The miniature canine is controlled wirelessly by a Playstation-like controller and can be made to:

  • Sit
  • Forwards
  • Backwards
  • Roll over
  • Beg
  • Stand on two legs

The dog is made of aluminium and powered by a 7.2V metal hydride battery via nine servo motors.

HPI products are available throughout Oceana and parts of Asia and its remote-controlled racing cars are distributed throughout Europe and the USA so we may well see this product in the West soon.
