Canon presents its 2009 Spring Collection
February 18th, 2009Canon invited press and bloggers to attend the launch of a wide range of new products today at the Soho Hotel, London. And quite a range it was from the diminutive Powershots party cameras to the Legria range of camcorders and a few surprising products in between.
At the kind invitation of CanonCameraBuzz.com I was introduced to the latest and greatest from the Canon brand which I outline below. More detailed posts to come out over the next few days.
SX200 IS camera
A diminutive device filling a gap between the truly microscopic and compact camera formats and incorporating a 12x zoom! A key feature of the SX200 IS is the full manual control. Also features a pop-up flash and 720p HD movie recording and Smart Auto Scene Detection

Ixus 100IS
An even smaller camera in which Canon has managed to place the sensor directly behind the lens using ‘light folding optics’ giving the same image quality of larger cameras in a smaller body. A great party cam.

PowerShot D10
Amuse your friends with your ability so submerge your camera completely under water — and it still works! In fact this camera has also been dropped on the floor and down stairs. I’m not saying you could useit as a baseball but it can take a lot of punishment. Aimed at snowboarders and skiers , perhaps the ideal sports camera.

PowerShot A480
A small camera that’s designed to be easy to use. Incorporates many innovative software features to make life for the casual snapper a lot easier including dedicated print menu, face detection, red-eye correction, and Motion Detection.

PowerShot A1100 IS
A lerger format compact camera with clever technologies to make life easier.
Legria HF S10 Camcorder
Announced in January, this camcorder incorporates many features of advanced still cameras in a camcorder format and flash storage technology.
