Sonim XP1 JCB ToughPhone
December 22nd, 2007In the UK JCB is best known for its bulldozers, earth-movers, excavators and the like so you’d expect a mobile phone with their name on it to be able to put up with scrapes, drops, violent misuse and anything else you can throw it at.

The JCB ToughPhone is designed to operate in temperatures of -20°C to 60°C, is splash-, drop- and shock-resistant, has apparently been tested to destruction in cement mixers, has an extra loud ring tone (presumably to be overheard over the sound of really loud machinary), bluetooth and push-to-talk. It can also be used as a two-way radio for when you find yourself in areas that are so rough that a cell-phone signal is not available!
