KDDI/Yamaha project combines cellphones and musical instruments
The latest AU project from a team of young innovators in Japan and elsewhere (including Marianne Bailey) presents us with some of the most innovative and original cell phones ever seen. Not only do they provide the usual communication functions but all the featured devices double a musical instruments!

Japan already produces a wide variety of niche mobile devices but these machines push those boundaries even further. The example above is named the ‘My Pocket’ and comes with a number of accessories enabling it to mimic several instruments including harmonica and the trumpet.
Other cellphone/instrument combos include ‘Strings for fingers’, ‘Sticks in the air’, ‘Box to play’, ‘Key to touch’, ‘Trio in your hand’ and ‘Band in my pocket’. You can see some of these instruments in action on in the video below:
