Samsung’s extended Home Cinema range and new TVs
March 25th, 2008Samsung is about to launch a series of boxed home cinema systems with emphasis on how cool they look in your living room. We are told that the 4 and 5 series LCD TVs are also imminent having first been shown at the CES lin Las Vegas in January.
The system above is the Samsung X715 5.1 system which will also be available as a 2.1 system: the X710.
The XA100 system offers a more compact footprint.
Other systems expected are:
The HT-BD2 Blu-ray system,
the HT-TZ215 and
HT-TX500 (bottom)
The latter three of which have tall floorstanding speakers, a subwoofer and central control unit.

The HD-ready Series 4
- Sizes:
- White: 22, 32, and 4o inches
- Black: 26, 32, 37 and 40 inches
- Viewing angle: 178°
- Connections: Side-mounted HDMI
- Notes:
- Downfiring stereo speakers hidden in base of display
- ‘Hotkeys’ on remote giving quick access to connected devices
The HD LCD Series 5
- Sizes: 32, 37, 40, 46 and 52 inches
- Frame rate: 24 fps
- Connections: three HDMI connectors
- Contrast ratio (claimed): 30,000:1
