Metroid Prime 3: Corruption brings first action title to Wii

September 21st, 2007

So far the choice of games for Wii has been strictly ‘family friendly’. Which is fine. But some of us hanker for some action titles and now our prayers have been answered! Metroid Prime 3: Corruption has arrived and it feels good!

Corruption is the third installment of sci-fi trilogy but the first foe Wii and its a showcase for the Wii’s feature set. But don’t expect the graphics to be up to Platstation or Xbox standards as the Wii lacks hi-def output.

The controls take some time to master but the Wii’s unique user interface allows some novel actions never seen before in games on other platformsand the game makes full use of the remote nunchuk attachment for looking, moving, shooting and jumping.

The game has no multi-player mode but the single-player plot is thrilling and challenging. The heroine, bounty hunter Samus, is up against her evil twin (dark Samus) and spends most of her time exploring and puzzle-solving.

Wii at last has an action title to be proud of. Lets hope it’s not the last.
