PS2 gets a new design and a new price!
November 2nd, 2007The PS2 is now seven years old and has had a few reincarnations in that time so in an effort to keep the platform relevant Sony have decided to give it another one. The new model features a new design and a price drop in 2008.
The new PS2 will be a more compact design with an integrated power supply instead of a ‘floor-brick’. This will lower the manufacturing cost and the retail price is rumoured to be $99.
Sales of PS2 have suffered a slump of late following the introduction of Wii and Xbox 360 that have no-doubt had Nintento and Microsoft rubbing their hands with glee
Over 120 million units have been sold to date and its possible that a price cut soon could bring the PS2’s spent sales figures back to life.
