30″ Dell DisplayPort 3008WFP available – larger property may be required
December 19th, 2007If you’re the kind of person whose computer monitor must occupy as much of your house as possible Dell has decided to oblige in the form of the new DisplayPort. The monitor has appeared on Dell’s New Zealand site (but nowhere else as yet).
According to the site the specs are as follows:

2560 x 16003 Native Resolution – Offers up to 77% more content compared to Dell 24-inch monitors. - 3000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio – Produces darker blacks for sharper images, crisp text, better colour saturation and greater detail for HD entertainment.
FULL HD 1080P – Supporting the highest video content standards and comes with an HDMI connector. - Dell TrueColorTM Technology – 117% colour gamut for rich, life-like imagery that has accurate colour representation better tones and hues, and supports Adobe 98 colour standard.
- Extensive Connectivity – Seven connection options: VGA, DVI-D with HDCP, HDMI, S-Video, Component, Composite and DisplayPort give you a wide range of connection options.
- State-of-the-Art Design – With its brushed aluminum housing, glass stand base, and Dell-patented cantilever arm, the Dell 3008WFP looks as beautiful from the back and side as from the front.
The 30″ Dell DisplayPort is retailing for £1,021 ($2,039, €1,417)

Where did you get those prices? The $ and AU$ prices have been confirmed but chances are REALLY slim that UK and euro prices are going to be around the level you mention. I’m afraid €2000 is more realistic.
