Mordaunt-Short launches Performance 6 Limited Edition
March 18th, 2008Mordaunt-Short is enhancing its universally-praised performance 6 loudspeaker system. In celebration of its 41st anniversary the company is launching a limited edition of its superlative Performance 6 loundspeaker models. This Limited Edition version of the revolutionary speakers is claimed to provide greater fidelity, revealing even more detail from a recording that the standard versions.
Most important characteristics:
- Aspirated Tweeter Technology (ATT™).
- Continuous Profile Cone (CPC™) mid/bass drivers.
- Proprietary construction of the cabinet of polymer resin to control cabinet resonance.
- Sound Deadened Stalk (SDS).
- Selected crossover components including ClarityCaps.
- Special finish in Midnight Black.
All these features serve to improve the already superlative quality of these premium speakers.
The improvements have been concentrated in two areas:
The Crossover
A DVP (Dual Value Parallel) condenser has been used and optimized for maximum performance along with a new PCB and circuit for better details and to improve the quality of the indicator path.
Clarity-Cap capacitors are used in all the important components of the crossover
The Cabinet
A new resin formula has been employed for the creation of the cabinet and the detail of the mold has been subtly improved. The Performance 6 range has a reputation for producing life-like sound reflections and the cabinet improvements enhance this position further. As a result bass is reflected more effectively.
The Aspirated Tweeter Technology (ATT) provide full and detailed sound reproduction. The Tweeter system has been coupled to Mordaunt-Short’s Continuous Profile Cone (CPC) driver. The tight lines of the CPC are essential for the superior audio reproduction of these speakers. The Aluminium of the conus and its precise shape ensure minimum distortion.
This broad range of improvements to the performance 6 has produced a loudspeaker with a level of fidelity bound to reinforce the reputation of Mordaunt-Short of realistically reproducing all types music as the artists may have intended.
The Performance 6 speakers are expected to retail for around £4000.
