Bowers and Wilkins launch first wireless 8-channel Audio system
January 21st, 2008Bowers and Wilkins believe that their latest 5.1 liberty speaker controller product is the world’s first wireless 8 channel audio system. It uses this abundance of channels to send audio data through whatever channels carry the least interference. This allows the 5.1 liberty system to dynamically select channels to deliver the highest possible audio quality.
The liberty is based on the XT series speakers and consists of four different speaker models powered by class-D amplifiers integrated into each speaker.
The full list of components is:
- XTW 2 bookshelf speakers
- XTW 8 floor-standing units
- XTW centre channel
- PVW 1 sub-woofer
- CP1 central unit
Specs will be posted here as soon as they are available.
The Liberty system is expected to be available in the third quarter of 2008.
