Audio Technica launches new headphone models for audiophile and casual listener alike
October 17th, 2008If you’re a true audiophile Audio Technica’s latest line of headphones just might meet your superior audiophonic standards.
Headphones
ATH-A2000X
The ATH-A2000X will retail at $779 and has 53mm diameter drivers, a frequency response of 5Hz to 45kHz, an impedance of 42-ohm and output of 101dB. It also features gold colouring to the aluminium housing.
ATH-A1000X
As the A2000X’s little brother the A1000X has a similar impedance and output but a less impressive frequency response of 5Hz to 42kHz and sells for a little less at $603.
Both headset models are set to ship on December 5th initially in Japan.
Earbuds
ATH-CK100
The new earbuds are quite different. The ATH-CK100 is a high-end model with a tripple-driver system and is claimed to be the smallest in-ear-monitor headset available today. If features:
- 23-ohm impedance
- 113dB
- 20Hz-18kHz frequency response
The ATH-CK100 are also housed in an aluminium casing which helps it acheive a weight of only 4 grams (0.14 ounces).
ATH-CKM30
At the very bottom of the pile we have the ATH-CKM30 with a 10.7mm driver, 16-ohm impedance, 14Hz-24kHz frequency response and 104db output. The CKM30 is available in the following colours:
- White
- Purple
- Orange
- Brown
- Black
- Red
The lowly status of this model is reflected in the price at just $40.
Both earbud models will begin shipping on November 21st.
