Altec Lansing launches Expressionist BASS PC speakers
September 11th, 2008If you need a powerful quality desktop speaker system for your PC that takes up a minimum footprint this could be just what you’re looking for. The Expressionist BASS integrates subwoofers within the free-standing desktop elements rather than a separate woofer box.
The shape of the units is supposed to contribute to the acoustic qualities of the system. The cone-shaped speaker bodies reduce harsh diffractions which distort the colour of the sound passing through the speaker. This, it is claimed, results in a more natural sound.
Vicki Marion, president of Altec Lansing says:
“The evolution of digital music and media has dramatically increased PC-centric playback, so Altec Lansing engineered this integrated system to audibly and aesthetically complement the desktop. The unique chassis of the new Expressionist BASS is built to appeal to both eye and ear by amplifying fidelity as well as contributing a bold, distinctive new look to today’s multimedia systems.
The new Expressionist BASS proves that powerful, natural sound performance can come in a compact, space-saving package,”
The Altec Lansing Expressionist BASS (FX3022) system will be available October 2008 at select Apple and other CE retailers for $129.95.
