Psystar’s Open(3) launch says “We’re not scared of Apple”

March 18th, 2009

Despite the on-going court battle with Apple over the bundling and installation of the Apple OS with Psystar’s range of products the clone-maker was happy to stick its head out a little further and launch their Open(3) computer yesterday.

Psystar claims the new model is “Smaller, Faster and Sexier” and includes Intel’s E7400 2.8GHz Core2Duo processor. That’s more than 50% faster than its predecessor. The new machine is also housed in a smaller, sleeker case  less than half the size of the Min-Tower format.

Options include an All-in-one card reader which reads many popular media including SD cards, Compact flash and Sony’s Memory Stick formats.

To Apple’s chagrin, the Open(3) comes boxed with Mac OS X version 5 (Leopard).

Prices start at $599 and the Open(3) is available to order now.
