MacBook Air Mini — Apple must build this laptop
March 30th, 2009This may be genuine — but it probably isn’t. If it is its great news and I’ll definitely be in the queue to buy this MacBook Air Mini. But if it isn’t it illustrates just the kind of cut down models Apple should be turning out in today’s stuffed up economy.
Though probably ‘designed’ in Photoshop rather than Cupertino we can still fantasize that one day Apple will get around to producing its first netbook, which is essentially what this is. Here’s a comparison with the existing MacBook:
Published in a Russian magazine the images come with the following specification:
- 10.4″ WXGA display at 1280×768 resolution LED with back-lighting
- 267×195x4(min) mm
- 19.4 mm max thickness
- NVIDIA GeForce 9400M
- NVIDIA MCP79, 533 MHz
- Intel Atom Z740, 1.83 Ghz
- 1 MB l2 cache
- 2 GB of DDR-800 RAM
- 64 GB ssd
- Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
- Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n
- 1 x USB 2.0
- 1 x Mini Display Port
- Battery Li-Ion 5100mA
The Russians predict a release date ‘at some time’ during 2009 and a price of $899.
Love to hear from anyone else who thinks an Apple launch of this would be a great idea.
